Japan NPO Center (JNPOC) has launched a “CSO Accountability Portal”, a collection of civil society organizations’ good practices on accountability in Japan and Asia-Pacific countries.
http://cso-accountability-portal.net/en/
With this portal site, JNPOC would like to introduce practices and tools within Japan’s nonprofit sector to ensure organizational accountability, which has not been well-known in the CSO community outside Japan. In addition, some good practices in Asia-Pacific countries are listed–currently 5 Japanese cases and 5 Asia-Pacific cases. In the Japanese site, we also include the translation (excerpts) of a self-regulation guide provided by CIVICUS.
For many years, JNPOC has been promoting the idea and practice of what it takes to become a trustworthy nonprofit organization. In order to gain trust from different stakeholders including, members, donors, supporters and the public, it is important to actively disclose information regarding organization’s activities, including programs and financials.
We will be adding more contents in the future. We welcome your input and hope that this attempt will promote exchange of ideas for better accountability among CSOs in Asia-Pacific.
