Sompo Japan Insurance Inc., a major general insurer in Japan, announced a new focus for their Save Japan Project.

Since 2011, JNPOC and other regional NPO centers have been collaborating with Sompo Japan for the project aiming to raise awareness of biodiversity conservation among  civil society through partnerships between the private sector and environmental NPOs.

The new focus is supporting projects that tackle targets stipulated by the recently set National Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan of the Japanese Government, which reflects the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF) adopted at the 15th Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) held in Montreal, Canada, in December 2022.

We at JNPOC are delighted to continue working with Sompo Japan for Save Japan Project and would like to make a contribution for better biodiversity in Japan.
